Ahead of Liverpool's mouthwatering Capital One Cup semi-final, first-leg clash with Chelsea at Anfield, swot up on all the pertinent big-match stats and facts...
Liverpool are appearing in a record 15th League Cup semi-final. They also hold the competition record for final appearances (11) and trophy wins (eight).
The Reds' last semi-final saw them defeat Manchester City over two legs in 2012 en route to lifting the trophy - the fourth time in a row they have progressed to the final from this stage.
Liverpool and Chelsea have met five times previously in the League Cup, with the Reds winning three and the Blues two.
The last meeting came at Stamford Bridge in November 2011. Liverpool won 2-0 with second-half goals from Maxi and Martin Kelly - this after Andy Carroll's early penalty had been saved by Ross Turnbull. It was Kelly's only goal in his Reds career, but it was a bad night for Lucas who was carried off injured and did not play again that season.
From that last meeting three years ago, only Jordan Henderson, Jose Enrique and Lucas of the current squad started that night while Martin Skrtel came off the bench. For Chelsea, of the 14 who played only Ramires (a used substitute) is still at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool have scored in all but two of the last 52 League Cup games - a sequence going back to 1998. One of those came against Chelsea in 2007.
The Reds have failed to score in only four of the last 42 home meetings with tonight's opponents in league and cup.
When the teams have met in a cup semi-final, Liverpool have come out on top in four of the five meetings. They won in the FA Cup in 1965 and 2006, and won two of the three European Cup clashes. They only tie the Reds lost was when they played the first leg at home.
Steven Gerrard has scored in four League Cup semi-final legs. He netted in both games against Watford in 2005 and repeated the feat against Manchester City seven years later.
Gerrard needs one goal to reach double figures in all competitions for the 10th season in his Reds career. He has scored six goals in his last nine starts for the club.
Liverpool are unbeaten at home in six games since their defeat to Chelsea early in November. In their last three games at Anfield they have scored eight times.
On Saturday, Fabio Borini became the 17th different Liverpool player to score this season. The club record in all competitions is 18, which has been set 3 times - 1991-92, 1999-00, 2012-13.
My Prediction : Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea
